Antalya is not one place but the shared name of several very different areas to stay in. For the same price you can be in a historic stone house in the middle of the city or in a large resort beside kilometres of sand. That choice shapes the whole holiday.

Kaleiçi — the historic centre

Narrow streets inside the old walls, small boutique hotels in restored Ottoman houses, and the marina. Right for people who want to walk everywhere and have cafés and restaurants at hand. Not the place for a big pool, entertainment programmes or a wide beach.

Konyaaltı — the city beach

A pebble shore on the west side of the city, with the Beydağları mountains behind it. You can stay close to the centre, go into town in the evening and still have the beach within reach. Come knowing it is pebble, not sand.

Lara — sandy shore and large resorts

A long sandy beach east of the city with big, mostly all-inclusive hotels. An area designed for people who plan to spend their time with the pool, the aquapark and on-site facilities.

Belek — golf and pine forest

Where pine forest meets the sand, best known for its golf courses. Mostly quiet resorts spread over large grounds. Far from city life if that is what you want.

Side — ancient town and beach

A resort area woven around the Temple of Apollo and the ancient theatre. For travellers who want the coast and historic surroundings in the same trip.

Kemer — coves and mountains

West along the coast, where the pine forest reaches the sea in a series of coves. Smaller properties and easy access to walking country.

Alanya — castle and a lively shore

The castle on the peninsula, Cleopatra Beach and a busy seafront. For people who want a long beach and city energy together.

Frequently asked questions

Which area is closest to the airport?

Antalya Airport is east of the city, so Lara and the areas towards the centre usually mean a shorter transfer. For exact timing, check the property address on the booking page.

Is Konyaaltı beach sandy?

No, it is pebble. If you want sand, look towards Lara, Belek and Side.

Are there all-inclusive hotels in the city centre?

The centre is mostly city hotels on a bed-and-breakfast basis; all-inclusive properties are concentrated in the coastal areas.
