September and October are Antalya’s two most balanced months. The summer crowds have left, the sea is still in use and most resorts are open. From November some of the coastal resorts start closing for the season, so the real window for an autumn holiday is these two months. This article covers who should go, where, and what to check before choosing a hotel; at the end are the words of guests who stayed last autumn.

What changes in September and October
Three things. Crowds drop: once schools reopen, family numbers fall, finding a sunbed and skipping the restaurant queue gets easier. The heat softens: the July–August days that were hard to spend anywhere but the beach at noon are over, and Kaleiçi and the city centre become walkable in daytime. The number of open properties starts to shrink: at the end of October and in November some coastal resorts close for the season, so when you pick dates on the booking screen you need to see that the property is open then; in a closed period the search simply returns nothing.
We give no figure for sea temperature; we have no measurement. In the reviews below, a guest writing on 10 October 2025 called the sea and the beach “great”, and pool and sea use come up often in the September reviews. Make your own call from those sentences.
Three criteria for choosing an autumn hotel
1. Indoor pool, spa, hammam

2. Distance to the airport
Autumn trips are usually short: three or four nights. On a short trip, transfer time is time stolen from the holiday. The list below is sorted by straight-line distance from the hotel’s coordinates to Antalya Airport; road distance is a little longer, but the order does not change.

3. Board type

Before you book
The cancellation terms depend on the rate you choose, not on the hotel; the same room is often sold under more than one set of terms. Since more people decide last minute in autumn because of the weather, choosing the free-cancellation rate even if it costs a little more is reasonable. Do not go to the payment step without reading the cancellation line next to the total and the “payable at the property” item.
